A Night Ashore

Judy's friends Micki and Lee graciously invited us to their winter home on Tortola to eat dinner and spend the night in their guest cottage. What a beautiful place they have, high on the hill with a great view overlooking the ocean. It was very pleasant to sleep with the sound of the waves breaking below. Before breakfast, Lee took me for a guided hike in the rain forest in Sage Mountain National Park, land which was donated by Rockerfeller, the same as he did on St John. It was really interesting to see the boidiversity - the north side at the top of the mountain receives about 80 inches of rainfall a year, double the amount of the lower islands. Thank you Micki and Lee!

Friends Visit

Our good friends Bob and Kerry from Lake Placid came for a visit and spent a week with us. We had a great time snorkeling and hiking on St John and Norman Island. They are flying back to sub zero cold as I write this - I sure feel sorry for them!

Norman Island

We've been away from reliable internet access hanging out anchored on Norman Island. What a beautiful place! It is uninhabited, but the owner was planning on developing it and punched in a bunch of dirt roads, so you can hike all over the island. Perfect! (for now) Pics later. Right now we are headed over to the US side to pick up our good friends from Lake Placid, who are flying in on Monday.
