Rangers on Board

We had a very enjoyable time with our friends Fred and Ellen, who came aboard for a couple days. We sailed around the St John area, stopping at several sites to snorkel (well, Judy and Ellen snorkeled, while Fred and I stayed on board to make sure the anchor didn't drag and the beer didn't get warm). Fred particularly liked it when he got to drive the boat ;-)

  1. Captain Johnnie,
Congrats on your brevet promotion...civil service was never that quick to recognize your potential...thanks for a grand time in the "Islands"...Ellen's already planning a way to get back...as for me, I'm naming my new pet sand fleas I picked up our last night in Cruz Bay...the "Painkillers" do help, but my liver is paying the price...and you're right, I did enjoy my stint at the helm...I prefer the term steering to driving....AVAST...off the port bow...prepare to repel boarders...ARRRGH...!!!!! Thanks again...

  2. Hey John and Judy,

So, it's back to Norman Island. What great adventures.

Love tracking you. Fortunately we've had an amazingly mild winter and early spring so pics of those blue seas and sunny skies are a bit more bearable.

Mom wants to come visit...try to imagine!

  3. Hi John, Judy & Spike!
Greetings from Blue Mountain Lake, where a few of us have been following your voyage after being tipped off by Greg George.

FYI, some north country folks have a place on Saint Johns at John's Folly, with a view out to Norman's Island. They (Denise Veldman & Ellen Deprey, PA from North Creek) are arriving today for a week of Caribbean Biathalon, which I gather consists of hikes in the am and rum concoctions in the pm.

If you're in their neighborhood and are so inclined, I'm sure they'd love to see you. Denice's phone # is 518-260-4748, and the nearest anchorage is Salt Pond Bay.

And, if you ever come back north, let's go sailing on BML in my Sakonett 23!

    Cheers, Tom Warrington
